Im März 1767 Landung auf Ceylon, 1767-1782 Missionar in Cuddalore. Nach Einnahme der Stadt durch französische Truppen Aufenthalt in Madras und Tranquebar. 1784-1788 in Nagapattinam. Im August 1788 Übernahme der Mission in Vepery. Ebenda Sekretär und Kaplan des Female Asylum. Am 31.07.1769 Heirat mit Anna Sophia Hüttemann.
