    Schulbesuch seit 1724 und seit 1733 Besuch des Gymnasiums in Elbing. Am 22.09.1739 Immatrikulation Universität Halle, Theologiestudium. April 1741 bis Oktober 1742 Lehrer an der deutschen Mädchenschule in Halle. 1742-1744 Hauslehrer bei einem evangelischen Kaufmann in Venedig [Johann Michael Wagner]. Am 04.11.1744 in Kopenhagen als Missionar ordiniert. Am 29.03.1745 mit Johann Christian Breithaupt Abreise von London. Nach längerem, krankheitsbedingten Aufenthalt in Batavia am 11.08.1746 Ankunft in Tranquebar, dort in der tamilischen Gemeinde tätig. Am 05.03.1761 Heirat mit Anna Dorothea Obuch.
