FIRST WAY-MARK. THE TRUL WAY THE WAY OF VIRTUL.

if a religion is tru¢ and from God it will promote vir­ame and good morals. The religion which teaches good morals and virtuous dispositions is certainly true. The re­lizion which does not teach these is worse than useless.

All men are inclined to evil, and are therefore found to do evil naturally© but to put away evil and to do good hey require various helps and encouragements. When left without help, men cease to walk in the way of virtue. Though mil men require assistance of this kind, yet those who follow the linda religion reecive from it no help or en­couraceinent whatsoever towards living+ rtuously. Christians, on the other hand, have the advantage of many aids and Switements and of divine help,
