Bible, or of portions of it, have been made into a hundred and fifty different languages.

Christians arc desirous that all men should hear the words of their Creator in their own language, and learn his will and obtain salvation, and therefore they use great efforts to place the Bible within the reach of all. They print copies of it in large numbers and distribute them amongst people in every part of the world, either at a low price or gratuitously. Christians are neither ashamed of their sacred book, nor do they wish to hideit from any wish to deceive people.

¢ The harmless water snake exposes itself fearlessly;

So, those who have insincere hearts hide themselves,

¢ But to hide themselves is foreign to the sincere.( Midurei.)

Thus the professors of various religions, being conscious that the books which they call sacred are full of deception and that they will not bear examination, conceal them from the public eye; but Christians, being lovers of truth, and knowing that the Bible is true, and being anxious also to do good to their fellow men, they conceal the Bible from nobody, but exhort all persons to read it, to examine it, and to study it.

Moreover, when the Bible of the Christians is examined it is found to be suited to people in every situation of life, It contains the instructions of the common Father of mankind to all his children, and is the universal light. Monarchs and their sub­jects, the rich and the poor, parents and children, the wise and the simple, and all other classes of people in the world may learn in the Bible their duties to one another. It contains ancient his­tories for the learned, proverbial sayings for the common people, philosophies for the subtle, stories for the simple, and profitable

spiritual instruction for all. It contains simple rules for the
