Dear friends! if your religion were true it would be sut­able to all men, and if you believed it to be true, it woull be your desire and endeavour that it should spread every wher: and overcome all other religions. If you use no endeavours of this kind, may it not be concluded that you do not believe your religion to be true? If your religious teachers believed in the truth of their religion, should not som: of them leave their temples and convents, and visit various forcir countries and islands, and give struction to the inhabitants of those countries and endeavour to convert them to Ilin­diism. Besides, do not the white men also who have com to this country and who dwell amongst you need to be savad ­You must visit them, therefore, and make known your relizion to them also, and exhort them to worship gods of brass and of stone, that they may not fall short of heavenly bliss.
