It is unnecessary to compare the Hinds with the white men as regards trathfdness. Even children know that this country has been ruined by lying, and that the white gentlemen do not tell les. Have vou ever inguired how it 1s that the people of this country are so given to lying vt cannot surely be sald that it is owing to the heat of the am; neither ean be said that it Is owing to the darkness of the people's complexions, for lying has its seat not in the skin, but in the mind. The reason why the practice has so inereased is this, the people have given themselves to the worship of eods that are not, and thus they have learned to sav the things that are not.
