the world. No one can suppose for a moment that in process of time all men are likely to become worshippers of Siva or worshippers of Vishnu, or Mahommedans. Each of those religions is losing strength daily, instead of showing signs of becoming universal. The only religion for the diffusion of which inereasing ctfrts are daily made, is Christianity. Christians alone have come to the conclusion that it is their duty, in dependence on the blessing of God, to teach the way of salvation to every nation anl to every race.
Moreover, there are prophecies contained in the Bible to the cflcet that“the Gospel shall be preacied to all nations,” that“from the rising of the sun to the ooing down of the same” all men shall accept Christ as their Saviour, and that© the earth shall he fille] with th: knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea 37 anc these prophecies render it certain that in the end the rcligion of Christ will every where prevail,
The time is coming when the whole of the inhabitants of this neighbourhood also will abandon their false deities and demons and learn to worship the Only God. Dear friends! is this happy change to take place in your time, or in the time of your children® Whenever it takes place, it will be a most beneficial change for this country, If, however, it takes place not in your time, but in the time of vour children, though it will be a blessing indeed to your children and to your children’s children, vet 1 will be of no advantage to you. You will have to lument in the other state of existence that you died without embracing that goo religion. If you are converted and become Christians now, vou yourselves will be saved and blessed now, and then also vour children after vou, and all future wenerations will share in your advantages.
