such blessings were bestowed upon your country and people in your time. Give vourselves therefore at once to the Christian religion, the only religion which is common to all —the one universal way of salvation, and you will be happy both in this life and in the next.
[ have now shown by means of three important sions, or marks, which all persons, whether educated or uneducated, may easily understand and appreciate, that the Christian re
ligion is the true religion. Those marks are as follows:—
1. Christianity furnishes men with many helps to a virtuous life, whilst the Hindi religions atford them no help whatever. The true way is, therefore, the way of virtue,
2. The Christian religion is the most cflicacious of all means for the promotion of carthly blessings, such as education, civilization, and temporal prosperity, whilst Hinddism docs not, and cannot contribute to the promotion of these blessings. The true way is, therefore, the way of pros
perity.
3. The Christian religion is common to all and fitted to become universal, whilst Tlindiusm has no claim to universality. The true way is, therefore, the one universal way.
Those who sincerely embrace the Christian religion and believe In the Lord Jesus Christ, will obtain the forgiveness of their sins, and become pure in heart, OF all blessings which the soul of man requires these are the chief.
